Default How Does This Fluid Look?

I've been having a problem with my Performabuilt trans shifting hard lately. The trans is less than 2 years old, and the fluid was drained and filled about three months ago. This is what I drained today. I see a little bit of black stuff floating about, but nothing settled at the bottem of the pan. I don't know how to read fluid.

How does this fluid look? I had to stir it for the stuff to show in the pics.

Thanks in advance.

I'll do something. I've never had them come out so big.

BIG PICTURES!
BUT though its hard to see much in a black pan I don't see anything I would be worried about from what I can see. Hard shifts can come from several things, 1 have you had the car scanned? The most likely trans related possibility would be the PCS (pressure control solenoid) since you have the pan off I would change that its the largest solenoid.

I couldn't make the picture smaller, so I got rid of most of them. I'm glad you say that it doesn't look like there much to worry about.

It seems like draining the fluid fixed the problem. It looked overfilled beforehand, so I paid more attention when refilling. I'll know for sure in a couple of days.

I plan to get it really flushed pretty soon anyway. What fluid does Performabuilt recommend put in their transmissions?

I don't have any codes currently. I had one pop up a while ago, but it went away within a couple of days and hasn't come back in weeks.

We have no recommendation other than it meets or exceeds dexron/mercron requirements users choice.

Before you mention who's trans this is, you should pm with pictures to the people you bought it from and ask if things are good from them. If not satified, then post your pics on a site for questions from others. Just an opinion.

I'm not saying anything about the compony. I just don't know how to tell if the fluid looks good. I also know performabuilt is on her regularly, so I was expecting a reply from him.

Your fluid should look like the new fluid but maybe darker.
That fluid looks like it has fine metal in it because it's not uniform in color.
