how to choose h/c?
car is a 93 rx7 with an ls1 4l60e, I raced my first modded ws6 last night and he had me by a fender, (mostly I think because i pulled it in 2nd and hit the limiter) (guess i was too nervous) oh well any way how do you decide what cam and heads are a good choice. I do enjoy driving the car and still want to be able to daily. I am currently shopping for a ls6 intake. And want to go ahead and do heads and cam. I have been told that the t-rex is too massive of a cam to try and drive everyday, however I would like to be able to hear it and not necessarily have it acting up if i wanna just go cruise the beach. all input is appriciated
ps whats a good stall speed 2800?

If you're wanting a large cam then you're going to need a much larger stall than a 2800, more around 36-4000 is pretty good if you're wanting some quick ET's. I would suggest calling a sponsor like Texas Speed or Thunder Racing and telling them your goals for the car and they're really good about recommending some good setups.

Two questions:
What is your budget?
What are your horsepower goals?
If you want all around power and drivability, look into something like the TR224.
If you want to go for a little more look into something like the Futral F13.
For heads you can get a set of AFR 205's, p&p 243's, or p&p 5.3 heads.
These combo's can easily get you into the mid 400rwhp, assuming you have all of the complimenting mods: CAI, LS6 manifold, TB, headers, & exhaust.

1st How much do you want to spend?
2nd How fast do you want to go?
3rd does the second really work with the first.
I vote full bolt ons, trex 4400 stall and a good tune, but to each there own.

well i wont buy it all at once but i want to piece it together slowly. I would like to get in to the 11's at the very least Idk that tens are feasable right now. I will most likely run nos due to from what i hear these lsx's love it!! and from what I have read I would like to go between a 75-125 shot maybe 150 at most. I would like to get into the 400 rwhp range.
I like a car that talks but I have to be able to drive it (streetable)
I was first considering pulling the ls1 in favor of the ls2/l92/l76 but i figure these motors are making decent horsepower and I am in a very light car

several of our sponsors sell budget ported ls6 heads for about 1k. TSP, PATRIOT, etc, if your going to rev high rpms or go with a cam over 570 lift you should upgrade your springs (budget heads come with stock ls6). as for cam read the sticky, but the 224 cam is a good choice for all around drivability / performance. i went too small with the stock 2002 ls6, dont make the same mistake. just my 2 cents.

If you have money go afr 205's or trickflow 215's. I did reserch and came to the conclusion there the ****. As for a cam, it can be big but on a 114 LSA it wont be to choppy. I love my 233/239 cam, if it was on a 114 LSA it would probably purr rather than plop. I have a 3600 stall and its fine for DD, i have some issues but i think its just my car, and tuning. Anyway putting together a good package in a car that light would be nnnnasty fast so if i were you id spend the money on something a little more radical. But thats just me..

have no current mods installed. I have a larger mass air thats it. have 3.5" exhaust.
was working a deal with a guy to get me a ss3200 yank for $300 that has 6k miles on it but he said his overdrive went out so I was told that I needed to have it cut and cleaned if i were to buy it to be safe so by then i would have 500 ish in it. I contacted texas speed as stated above and he recommended the torquer v3 for me and a 3600-3800 stall. sounds good?
