Wink not yet a owner but have ?'s

hey guys new to the site have some questions
planning to purchase a ls1 car camaro or firebird
im going to have around 7000 to spend saving up so i wont have to
take out another loan. already have one on my truck.
it will be around the first of august.
jus wanting to know if there is any problem area's i should look for
before i buy engine wise and all. does not really make a difference to me
auto or manuel. but what is the mpg difference between the two.
thanks in advance jus wanting to know what problem areas should i look into before i buy.

as far as mpg goes, if you drive it right you should get really terrible mileage either way!

if it's your DD and you dont mind shifting, then definitely get the stick. after gears and a stall on mine i lost 4 mpg on avg, and it still wont keep up with a stick car on the hwy.

they are tough cars man. if something isnt right you will usually know too. they dont hide problems well lol.

well to be totally honest, are you going to buy this car for the mileage? its a camaro. who cares about mileage, if you want good mpg then go buy a carola or something.

i just bought mine and it was everything i dreamed it would be. just take it for a drive, listen to the engine noises, and check for leaks.

you'll get about 18 city 22 high way... the thing with a manual is that you can do 80mph right at about 2000RPM or 120mph right at about 3000RPM (in sixth geer for both of course) i did a 410 mile trip on one tank....

also check the rear fenders if they tell you its just grocery store dents its bullshit!! when you flore or launch the car it twists which causes waves on the rear fenders especaily the drivers side that cost alot to fix and look ugly but thats how you know if its been draged alot
... check if the doors clips the fenders when ou open it if the do its only gonna get worse cause its sagging
... check if lights go up and down at same speed and see if they clip the hood at all
... and don't belive is a WS6 or and SS unless its gt 17 inch rims but most of all its gotta have the RPO code on the drivers side door.. oh and WS9 on transams just means it has a "double vision" ram air hood nothing special but its a nicer hood in my opinion then a WS6 ram air hood (its more curvey and about an inch higher up)
.........
let me know if you got more questions thats all i can think of right now good luck bro
