Default Playing on the dyno...stock LS2 big boost.

Well Dave's GTO hit the dyno again yesterday. 15-16psi, with a little more aggressive tune and a full exhaust with 2 mufflers. Here is the sheet. We lost tach signal on the pull and the next pull really fritzed the dyno so no data at all on that one. Sorta hard to see but it was 749@ roughly 5200rpm.

Stock long block with only dual springs. 34k on the clock.

Well it went to the track a couple of weeks ago. It went 11.x@134 and change. The clutch was slipping bad through 3rd and 4th though, about 500rpm slip speed crossing. That was with a 3850 race weight. We turned it up to 18psi on the dyno but the sound wigged the computer out so we got no data. We are in the process of moving and isolating the dyno electronics today.

Completely stock LS2 with dual valve springs as the only engine mod. Single S374 turbo with stock pass. side manifold and 6l truck manifold on the drivers side. It has been running like this at over 735whp for about 1500mi now.

Cool. I should have been running 110 or so in mine, now with rods/pistons using more meth to curb detonation (stock heads, high comp ratio). Should have dyno numbers soon.

Once again, nice numbers and keep pushing it!

Well of all things to break on this motor.

The timing chain busted on 5th gear pull.

We need another stock motor now so we can find the actual hp limit w/o having a dumb timing chain failure. So disappointed was hoping for a glorious 900whp and 140+mph, no such luck on this one.

Damn it man ....stupid chain.

I was hoping you would have better luck with this project.
Now you have to go find another stock LS2 to play with.
Even with the failure you still pushed the "danger zone" much further than others.

Well done!

We pulled a valve cover and the rockers saw two ex. valves that were not sitting at installed height anymore. So long story short, thing will not be looking good in the engine lol. We have a perfectly good iron 6l long block to go in it though. Dave might buy the Lq9 from Chris's truck and slap it in there with a better chain. Chris's motor has been through its paces with 17psi from a TC76, still runs strong as it did when it went in lol. The ugly burnt 93k mile j/y motor that it is.

Man what is the difference between that Bullseye S374 and the S series turbo's that FI.com sells? I'm guessing its based off a BW S300 "chassis" and modified by bullseye to reach its S374 status? It really puts the power down

Blacky to the rescue!!! Dave and I talked today and I'm selling him my ole Iron Block 6.0L and heads. Soooo, Davey Crocket should be back in action within a week or so with a stock 6.0 and 317 heads to "cruise" around this summer...and hopefully figure out the limits of GM stock 6.0L

On a side note, my 6.0L got forged, we found out my trans is just fine, and we'll be pushing the pig soon to see if we can get an AWD Silverado SS into the 10's before I break the 65E. Yeah, it's highly probable that I will, before I say F-it and go 2wd.

wow I'm really surprised. the ls2 chain is pretty strong. stock cam.. maybe the springs had a part to play. do most of the fi motors go with a double roller?
