Default 110hp from 200 shot

I had my car dynoed last week n/a and with a 200 shot. 420/388 na and 530/588 on the bottle. We sprayed a 150 shot first and it was around 520 hp. The kit is a basic harris speedworks sudden impact wet kit with single nozzle. I know the nozzle and the solenoids are rated to 200, so im not sure where im losing power. Anyone one have any idea's? I'm planning on running a second nozzle soon but i don't want to throw parts at it...

How was your bottle pressure? How full was your bottle? I would double check the jets to make sure you have the right nitrous jet in as well...

The jets were correct, we both verified that

Also, what were the plugs reading- any signs of detonation? I would guess not with only 19* of timing. Have you hit smaller shots on the dyno with similar problems?

i cant think of the specs on that cam right off but alot of the larger n/a cams have alot of overlap and dont respond to the bigger shots as well as a smaller cam.....

huh? The bigger cams generally do better on the bottle, especially with extra exhaust duration. His cam is a 231/234. The cam is damn sure not the problem here.

The Sudden Impact line of kits are rated to a 150 RWHP sized shot (solenoids are rated to a 200 HP (crank) shot). With that being said some customers have got 175 RWHP out of their SI kit, but that is maxing the SI kits out at that HP level. Anything over a 150 RWHP shot and the Brute Force kits are recommended. Make sure bottle pressure is at 950 psi and that the bottle is toped off, leaning the A/F out to 11.8-12.0 on the spray will get you to the correct HP level of the 150 shot.

flywheel horse power is what kits are rated at, not rwhp, if im correct, so i wouldnt get to dissapointed. add timing and bottle pressure and just tuning in genral maybe even weather for a total loss of 10 or so horse power add the drive train loss and theres your difference from 200 to 110. some cars go crazy on the juice, some just do average

it all depends on lsa...a cam with 0 or negative overlap will react to a big shot better than a cam with alot of positive overlap.....do a search on the topic....by bigger shots i mean 175 or larger....

This was not the problem. Read what Matt just posted, the kit is maxed out.

My MS4 had no problems making all 150hp on a 150 shot. I doubt it will have problems on the 200 hit this week either

I had the same problem with my hsw kit, made 90 hp with 150 jets, switched to a nitro daves nozzle and fixed my problem, cost me an extra $100 and a wimpy dyno sheet!
