Valvespring Overkill?

Valvespring Overkill?
Is there such a thing as overkill on valvesprings? I have 918's on my setup but I was just wondering if you had an extremely mild cam and put some bad *** springs that take around .650+ lift, would it actually harm performance if such a stiff spring was used?

Anybody care to give an explanation as to why a bigger spring doesn't rob power because of the extra force required to compress it?
Someone told me it makes no difference, but I'm not sure I understand how that could be.

It doesn't rob power. For the springs compressing you have springs decompressing to offset it. I wish i could explain it better but it has been awhile since I read the tech article explaining in detail. I would go PAC beehive instead of doubles to keep VT weight down if you are not running aggressive lobes/high lift. After saying this yes I am running doubles good to .650 lift
