Default Steering controls & PAC

Anyone use the PAC SWI-JACK with an aftermarket HU?

I'm probably going to pick up a Pioneer 4000u and I'd like to keep the steering controls in the TA. Is it very hard to install, I was going to wire it myself and I've done HU's and amps a few times before.

I've read some reviews that it has a delay before the HU reacts to the button.

Anyone order it in canada? I'd like to find it local around Toronto if possible.

the SWI-JACK is for _ JVC _ Alpine _ Clarion _ Kenwood stereos.
pioneer uses the SWI-PS.
i think the you get a delayed response from the ones that use IR.(SWI-X)
i am using the SWI-JACK with an alpine and there is zero delay
because it is hard wired to the stereo.
hope this helps

Of all f-bodists who have aftermarket HUs I wonder how many used something like a PAC to keep their Steering Controls?

Well what the crap! I'm using the SWI-PS on my D3 and have delay like a mug! It uses a hardwire directly to the back of the headunit too.....

I have had mine for a couple years and the only complaint is that the next station/tract button does not work when its cold...if you press it, it goes to the previous station/tract. The previous station/tract and volume buttons work just fine and the next button works after the car has warmed up??? Never really looked into it too much because I mostly use my ipod now
