Depends on what you are going for. But in the end the Koni's are valved better for the f-bodies weight.

DD- KYB's are great
Comp- Koni's 100%

You pay for a lot more than the name with Konis. KYBs adjust differently than the Konis. On the Konis compression is constant and rebound is adjustable. The KYBs adjust both rebound and compression at the same time with isn't great for tuning handling or ride. The quality of the internal components is also better with the Konis.

I've agonized over this issue forever. I want the best but, I'm cheap. Not a good mix. I researched it to death through about every koni and AGX thread there is, and spent about 45 on the phone with Sam Strano. (As everyone says, a truly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful guy.) I feel it all comes down to this...Are you serious about your car? Who wants a fast car that rides like crap? Scrimp, save, and do it right the first time. There are too many positives that outweigh the price.
Of course for now that's my academic answer. By next week I'll let you know my no bs road test answer.

Do it right the first time.Buy the koni's.They are the best bar none. You will wonder how you drove your car without them.Handling and ride is amazing.Call strano,he is the man.He spent a lot of time with me.

Well, let's see.

My car with Koni's rides GREAT .

My buddy's car with KYB's rides rough and harsh and crappy .

I'd save the extra few pennies and get the good ones the first time .

You are exactly right. You can put cheaper shocks on it and "say" it rides good, but it doesn't.

Konis are built better, valved better, and have better warranty service. You get what you pay for.

Koni SA's just adjust rebound while compression stays the same. That's a good thing. The compression setting is good enough for almost all of the aftermarket springs available.

KYB's have the compression go up at a certain rate as you change the rebound. One **** controls both. Sounds good but it's bad for both ride quality and handling. You don't want too much compression such that it doesn't let the springs do their job, and too much compression can make the ride pretty harsh.

KYB's set at 7-front 5-rear, these cars aren't Porsches, are they the best no but for the price of one set of Koni's I bought two sets of KYB's I don't call that cheap How about frugal.
