The total seal ring i have are there blower & nitrous rings. I had Diamond rings in my old setup and trust me there not the same rings. The total seals top ring is steel and the second ring is cast the Diamond top ring is Ductile & second ring is cast. And the Total seals cost about twice as much. I payed 250.00 a set and well worth it.

What about premature cylinderbore wear using the HEll fire type material rings ? Won't the steel top ring wear the bore faster compared to a ductile iron ?

Steel ring don't put out much more side pressure than the Ductile rings, Its the durability of the rings. The steel rings has a more ring gap the a standard ring does. On my nitrous motor the top rings has a .035" ring gap. That sounds like a lot but Total seal told me its because the steel ring will expand a lot more than a standard ring will.
