Default mandatory items for a 300+ hit or more

What do you big sprayers like to see in dedicated big HP nitrous motors???? Like what would you consider mandatory???? Just wanted to find out what you guys thought about people using one or multiple units with 300 or more hp worth of dope.....

Things I thought right off the bat was 4 bolt splayed mains, GOOD rods like at least oliver or lunati..... Also are aluminum rods required or preferred at this level???

Head studs or head bolts??? O-ringed block required???? And speaking of the block are you guys that are running these giant shots running at least 1/2 filled blocks...

What about fuel systems? Is 10 AN Feed and 6 AN return enough? Two nitrous bottles or one????

I just wanted to start a discussion that people could maybe save money or motors picking the right parts from the outset. I know what I have in my motor and it was built to handle 300+ worth of spray but I want to find out what you guys think...

*****. lol
I'd use head studs so you don't lift a head. Also, you can get a couple 15pound bottles so your not changing out so often.

If your tuner is suspect your wallet needs to be really big.

at that level i would run a dedicated 1gal fuel system for the juice and throw on some 28lb injectors and call it a day.

most people dont realize what you have to do to spray a 300 shot....you will need a rearend, tranny, driveshaft, built motor, stand alone system, and some suspension to hook up a 300shot.

Pretty open ended question Jason, but youll need some strong ****.

As for your setup, id say your on the right track for the big squeeze. Whats your nitrous kit look like?

Well the tuner I have figured out..... Theo Dec from Wizard Racing is the guy behind many a PSCA champion over here in the west.... He's also a world class chassis guy so I use him for both...... From what I know of him and from what every other guy that has ever used him to tune nitrous systems his tunes DO NOT hurt motors.....

But he is a STRONG supporter of automating everything using the XFI box.... And he's behind dry nitrous systems and even running wet plates dry.... So right now my nitrous system is shaping up like this. A Nitrous Pro Flow 2 stage inline plate (not the X-plate) with burst panels. top bar is stage 1 and is jettable up to 250hp.... bottom bar is up to 350hp and is stage 2.....

My plan right now is since I have a 600A Weldon that is good up to like 800hp or so I'm going to be walking the fine line on the 300 hit..... So I'll run only 1 stage at first probably like a 175-225 shot and run it dry with my 50lb injectors after Theo builds me a new pulsewidth map that XFI will switch over to when the nitrous is flowing. He uses only power adder exclusive and not power adder additive tables.... We'll see how that runs and if we decide we're gonna use both stages then i'll swap to a 2035 Weldon gigantapump and 160lb injectors...... Nothing else needs to change since i have 10AN feed and 6AN return. those should be good for my power levels.....

I've just always wondered what top level sprayers put in their motors to withstand 400-500 shot systems..... I would imagine at a 400shot you've gotta have aluminum rods at a minimum.. the shock alone would probably bend a steel rod.... no matter who made it...

If you use a progessive controller to ease into the hit, even if you only ramp it across a 1/2 second, it makes a big difference on parts longevity.
That's how I managed to run 9.70's on a bone stock IRS.

I run a similar set up with a DRY direct port with tuning help from Jeff Prock.
I'm loving this set up so far over the old/wet dry combos

If I was rich I would... this current motor took me 2 years to pay for.... I live in california.... my mortgage is close to 2700 bucks a month.... not alot of room to pill up and blow up parts...

Yup I'm going to build up my pro flow system with a plate with two nitrous solenoids.... no fuel connections at all.... My guy says it's the BEST way to run... no guessing and it's all computer controlled....
