N2O motor build, callies compstar or Eagle rods?
TSIA
A buddy is building a stock-inch forged LS1 that will see as much as a 300-shot, and other than the ARP 2000 rod bolts, has asked me which is a better rod, the Callies Compstar or Eagle H-beam.
I don't know which would be a lil beefier, so I thought I'd ask you guys. Thanks for your time.

From what I understand "Compstar" is basically Callies "budget" rods.
When I was building my motor tey were about the same in my book as far as strength goes. The Compstar rods come with the arp 2K standard bolts and the Eagle's don't. I ended up getting a better deal on the Eagle's so I got them. I've hit them with 300+ multiple times with no problems.

yeh the eagle and callies are made of the exact same 4340 aluminum...the difference is the callies are just a little easier to intall. there machining is just a little more precise. if your building the motor yourself definately go callies, and if your having it built then go eagle because you wont be the one worrying about the install anyways. neither one should have any problem with upwards of 1000hp. your pistons will fail before the rest of your stuff.
