Default Homemade blowdown tube

I have about 20ft of 5/16" aluminum tubing....If I wanted to make a blowdown tube using this....How would I go about attaching it to the bottle?

Flare the end of it? specific fitting?

5/16 is way too small to properly vent a bottle.

You prob mean 5/8 tubing? Yes, sure you can make your own, oppropriate end fitting and flairing of the tube is you need. Remember though, to be NHRA legal it has to vent out side the vehicle if in the passenger compartment. You could also use braided line and AN fittings if you like and that will be easier to route out side.

Default hmm...braided hose

what size hose do you think it would have to be to be legal? -8
i havent got around to getting a blowdown tube yet, and any stock one wont make it to where i want it to go, so i was thinking of making my own so its all one peice and routed how i want, but if you can use hose then it would make it even easier...

-8 will work perfectly. Just make sure you have a -8 fitting on your bottle, and hook up a bulkhead fitting to your vent point.

here's what i did with dual blow downs, home made with parts from speed shop. It's a "T" bulk head fitting that goes through the tire well, but you can get the idea and can make hoses to fit what ever route/lenght you like.
