Angry Failed PA State Emissions

Not sure why yet. I have to go pick it up at 5pm. Air filter is dirty as heck. May be an issue? Oil hasn't been changed in I'm guessing 6k miles (been running Mobile 1 Synthetic though for about 5 years .. prev. owner included). Has a cat, though it's high flow.

I recently had the vehicle tuned at a performance shop. Spoke with the previous owner and he said it has new o2 sensors, EGR, plugs, wires, etc. I'm thinking the tune caused it to fail. I just need to wait and see the #'s to see what failed.

Any help before that point is appreciated, but I guess this is more of a rant 'til I find out what the deal is.

They told me Safety passed, though, and to bring it back once it passes emissions and they will sticker it.

EDIT: Failed for CO. Everything else is fine. Info...

CO % x liters...
Limit: 1.1
Test Value: 1.82 (00.32%)

Like I said, all else is good. Idea's?

Get back to use when they tell you what failed... Otherwise this thread is pointless thus far

Oh they do... for OBD 1 cars. OBD 2 cars, they just do visual and plug in the scanner.

Yah just make sure you aren't throwing any codes or it's a failure for that too. It depends what counties as well. Some of the more rural counties don't have emissions period.

I thought the cat was supposed to take care of the CO? Correct me if I'm wrong. But if I'm right, it sounds like your cat isn't working fully or perhaps you are a bit on the rich side. Of course, putting a new air filter in so the car can breathe might help too

98-UP is only a Plug-In here......no roller or sniffer.

Yah I'm not sure. I am replacing the air filter, changing the oil and oil filter, and also doing o2 sensors. That should cure what ails it.

yea if its high co then its running rich but if they tuned it to run more rich then that could be the problem there. but yea not all parts of pa do sniffer test i know where im at its just either visual or the plug in and always the gas cap check lol

Why the hell did you attempt to pass smog with 6k on the oil change and a dirty filter?

I didn't check the air filter 'til someone mentioned it. I didn't think it'd have an issue passing per the previous owner. 6k miles on synthetic isn't a big deal.

The readings are listed in the original post.

CO % x liters...
Test Limit: 1.1
Test Value: 1.82 (00.32%)

The shop I had it tuned at before the emissions test told me it was running rich. So I am changing the o2 sensors as discussed.

This is exactly how the state I live in does it, for now, at least.
