Default 315 on ZR-1 17x11 Wheels Rear

Has anyone been able to put 315 on a ZR-1 17x11 Wheels in the rear without any modification? Will 285/40/17 work fine with a 17x11 wheel?

mine mounted up with no clearance issues with the fender wells. i can slide my fingers all the way around the inside of the tire.

the bump stop is all that needs to be trimmed. and even that isn't absolutely neccessary. but if you ever lift your car by the frame so the axle drops...it will interfer with the stock bump stops.

sometimes i think it depends on the tires. some seem to be wider at the sidewall than others. mine were nitto DRs....putting nitto NT555s on this week, hopefully they fit.

The OP asked if the wheels and tires will fit WITHOUT MODIFICATION. He knows they will fit with modification. These are in the top 3 most popular F-Body wheels on the site.

So, if you have an adj. panhard bar, had to roll the fenders, trim the bump stops, etc., then you had to modify your car to get them in.

OP, the answer to your question is "no." 315's will not fit without doing something to your car.

When the car is in the air the tire will be resting against the bump stop. Once you lower the car on the ground and load the suspension the bump stop will clear and you can drive on them. I drove on the ones in my pic for 100 miles and made 10 track passes on them with no issue.

I reccomend cutting the bump stop off though if your gonna DD the car with those wheels and tires.

what everyone seems to be forgetting is that these rims and tires will fit FINE without any modification at all......on a STOCK suspension. only when you LOWER your car will you have to roll the fenders, and maybe beat in the wheel well. as far as bumpstops, you dont have to do anything to them, as long as you jack from the axle, not the body mounts.

i put mine on the rear just for looks and to try it out with bone stock susp., and they fit perfectly. no rubbing, grinding, hitting, anything. after doing the susp., i then had to roll the fenders.

I'm lowered on a Pro-Kit and had to beat the **** out of my fender wells. Didn't need to roll the fenders and don't have an adjustable panhard bar.

So I guess I will be rolling my fenders and cutting the bump stop because I want to get koni shocks and strano springs in the future. I will stick with 285/40/17 for the time being until traction becomes a real issue.
