SS hood ideas I'm thinking of putting a SS hood on my pewter Z28 (pic in sig). I want to paint the scoop black (like Steves and others have done on here) but was pondering some decals for the sides of the scoop. Which one would you recommend?
1. LS1
2. 346
3. 5.7L
4. Nothing

About the HP rating... heh, not yet. I've barely started on my performance mods.
I agree on not too many decals. These would be the only decals on the car.

but seriously, I like Nineball's idea, too.
And if you build a multi-thousand dollar stroker engine, I'm sure you won't mind popping for the extra five bucks to get new stickers that match the new displacement

I kind of wanted people to know the scoop wasn't cosmetic and the red lettering was a nice compliment to the red SS on the fenders. It sounds like a lot but the letters are small, and it's a nice subtle touch.

Re: SS hood ideas dont put the 346! put 5.7 if you are going to do anything or maybe LS1.. If you p ut 346 people that dont know anything about cars will be like...my buddys camaro has a 350 why dont you?

We always say "this is too ricey" so I like the 346 CID, It's an American statement.
In the old days I used to have 352 badges and almost everybody failed to realise it was a SBC bored 20 over. Good piece of conversation.

Re: SS hood ideas yeah I guess. I just dont want to take the time to explain that its basically a 350 so I just say yeah its got a 350 instead of explaining that theoretically its only a 346.

Re: SS hood ideas Man, it is NOT a 350. A FORD 351 is not a 350! but it is also a 5.7. GM pinched my nerve when they started that Euro **** back in the 80's.
It's an American creation, it's a 346.
What's next 5700cc perhaps???
BTW when I get my FRC's, Im sanding 5.7L OFF.
