Default 78 mm plate problems

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems. I have the 78mm plate kit ad seem to have a problem getting the plate to seal properly. It only has the 3 bolts 2 on the bottom and 1 on the top. The 1 on the top has problems sealing at the corners. Maybe if I could get a thicker gasket or maybe add some gasket sealer to it it could seal better. It's causing me to have a slight vacumm leak thats pretty annoying. Just thought I'd see if anyone else is having these problems.

I just installed a hsw 78mm plate this afternoon and its seems to seal up fine my problem was the throttle cable extension plate did not move my throttle cable enough and the blade was not closing all the way it was about a 1/16 from hitting the the idle screw on the throttle body. took a little tweaking but i got it to close and a with a little slack too.

a buddy of mine has an '02 SS with the HSW 78mm plate and it would not seal right at the top either. He go a new plate from N2O and it works great.

I'm thinking of moving away from the nozzle set up on my '01 and going with a N2O plate.

I gaurentee ours to seal up properly. Our design was well thought out and machined. Our plates go through a very extensive QR before leaving. I am happy to see that our plate took care of his problem.

I don't have any problems with my 78 plate from Harris. What did you torque the combo down to?

Have your checked your fuel pressure? If you are maintaining fuel pressure you probley just need to adjust the fuel jet. The way our plate is designed there should be no possibility of sealing issues.

Won't matter what vendor, if they are on this site they will take care of you. All companies have problems here and there, guaranteed. No one can avoid a mass produced product from having a problem now and then, and it's a given in any industry, and there actually is a formula that corporations use to take this fact into account for calculating the bottom line.
Robert

Edit: I just saw a thread on the top of the next page, what is it about, hmmm... Guy's having fitment issues with their plate kits, and it ain't HSW.

Robert.... We do not have issues Plain and simple...

The fitment post you are talking about is a LT1. Any plate on them requires grinding...

Thank you!
