Default gmpp carb intake overkill on cam&spray ls1?

i have an ms4 and 150 wet kit going on my car. The motor is a 2002 so it came with the ls6 intake, besides that there is a lid, LTs, and LM1. I want to know if it is going to be overkill to go with a GMPP carb intake with Dave's elbow and a 1 inch n20 plate. In the future I plane on getting heads and a lq9 block and spraying a 200 shot.

for now it is stock heads. im not even sure I want to go aftermarket heads when I I get the lq9. my motor has 77k on it now and with the lq9 I will basically have a new motor and it will also be strong enough for at 200 shot and be a few cubes bigger.

will that fit under the cowl? the gmpp carbed style intake and 1" spacer? either way, i don't think it's overkill. it will definately push your powerband UP and shiftpoint around 7k rpm i'd guess. you will make more power than an ls6 intake for sure.

It will not fit under your cowl ... You are going to have to do some cutting on the car to get it to fit..a friend of mine just did one and some surgery was required to get it to fit..good luck with it...

From what I have read the GMPP is shorter then the vic jr. and Dave's elbow needs a 1 inch spacer becaz it was designed for the vic jr. this is y I am looking at this set up. I think the looks of the install with a crab plate with be so much cleaner and will also leave room for improvement when I move up to a set of heads and a new block. I also think the carb plate will be substantially more efficient then a shark nozzle or Dave's tb plate when i going to eventually bump up to a 200 shot

Both intakes are made to accept the same type 4150 carb so needing a 1" spacer for one and not the other makes no sense.

the carb flange is the same but i believe the height of the intake is not. the way the elbow is shaped is so that u do not need to cut the cowl with the vic jr. but the with the shorter gmpp u can fit a n2o plate with out cuting the cowl

Like I said get your sawzall out and prepare to do some cutting.

PS Proof reading your post is your friend ie "crab plate" ??..you probably mean carb plate ... short for carburetor plate.

any way you can run the gmpp intake, that plate kit, and just throw a carb style tb on top? that would be more cost effective and generate more power, as well.

meh. just keep an eye on the oil and you'll be fine. you'll blow it up long before driving it around with no air filter will cause enough damage to be a problem.

sd tuning is your friend with a setup like this, also.

what difference will that make? 1-2 mpg? if that much even. are you serious? you have a 240* duration cam, single plane intake, and a 150 shot. you're concerned about gas mileage? you sir, are comical.
