Default Removing C6 cats worth it?

Until I pick up a set of LG's or Kooks, do you guys think its worth it gutting the cats on my C6? Im thinking yes AND since I feel I need mod this car every single week, I may pull them and gut them. DO I turn off the COT in the Diablo tune then? What about the "header tune" in the Diablo? I guess those questions are for Mike @ Diablosport.

I read on one of the forums that removing the cats on an 07 C6 the guy gained right at 10 hp on the dyno. Will make more noise than a set of headers with high flow cats not to mention illegal. Lot cheaper though than a set of headers and high flow cats that would produce only about 10 hp more.

remove cats, install high flow cats, sell original cats for profit....
there's a guy on here that buys them, fwiw.
I've also heard that going "catless" produces a bad smell from the car.

No cats= extremely loud. You have a V8 bro not a 4 banger. The LS2 has so much potential you don't even need to touch the exhaust and you'll get huge gains.

Ahh,..gutting the STOCK CATS ON A CAR WITH A STOCK CATBACK WILL BARELY BARELY increase the sound.

I wouldn't do it, only cause it's soo minimal. I'm telling you, it's not what you think it would be like. It actually doens;t sound too good if you ask me,..kinda unrefined, if you will.

Now, I WOULD go catless with whatever long tube system you go with. If you buy LG pro's WITH cats, they usually give you TWO flow through pipes to swap out from catlless to cat, if you wanted.

The gain from gutting the cats,..would be ok since you have a way to tune for it but, minimal. Sound wise,...it's not that great.
