Default Got my cam yesterday!!

I have a local friend that has a 96 Impalla SS who has built up a somewhat large stash of aftermarket and OEM LT1 parts. Among those were a couple of cams, one being brand new(he bought it and never installed it. It is a custom grind Comp Cam, ended up getting it from him for $150 bucks. Its rather large but should work nicely in my 383 with a god pair of heads(Im leaning towards either Dart or Trick Flow). This is an N/A motor that might someday see some nitrous use. I would post the cam specs, but I dont want to start the arguement about it being too big of a cam, etc......

I'm guessing +1 for the 115.

Also, I see your wife wears the pants in your house

its a good sized cam, but we've got people running stupid huge cams. and the small cam, efficient drivetrain/suspension guys pick on them.

Ha, just read my typo. Yes its 115. Why the wide lsa, I dont know, just how they spec'd it. Definately going to be different than the Hotcam thats in the car now. Shouldnt be too long before Im ready to put it in, so we'll see how it does.

Formula96 - Hes a good friend that lives in Kilgore. He drives a pretty quick 96 Impalla SS. I know he has another cam that is used, a little smaller than this one, and has like 4 pairs of stock LT1 heads. I dont know what else he has though.

that cam will probably make a nice blower cam, more lobe seperation, means less overlap, meaning you are not going to lose any boost with the overlap....

You don't call that guy impy? do you Jason?

Formula96 - Nope dont call him impy. His name is Cheston. You might know him, he used to run around with the Longview crew years ago.

Definately could be a good blower cam! Hmmm could a s/c be in my future?
