Default TSP 231 237 cam on turbo 6.0

How well or how crappy will a tsp 231 237 112 cam work in a stock 6.0 with 8pounds of boost on it? Will it be hard to tune it in? Thanks folks

it will work go for it. Shouldn't be to hard to tune. It will bleed off some boost, but 8 lbs will be easy to make.

Id think it wont be too efficient with the LSA, but like said above, 8psi shouldnt be too bad.

That cam will have more overlap than most shops would reccomend, but it will still make very good power. I'm guessing it not have the peak power of a cam with less overlap but will make very good mid range power. Perhaps someone like Speed Inc. could chime in.

we had two GTOs in the shop with basically same procharger system 1 with SC1 camshaft XE lobes 222/228 vs. SI5 231/237

What was found in comparison, the SI5 cam made good peak numbers, SC1 cam came within peak power under the curve the blower cam made more average power and torque.

You can make any cam work if you can boost it, just how well curve looks is question.

This isn't a demonstration of turbocharged application, but think its a likewise comparison

Use it!!!

I had almost the same camshaft,...I ran 7.5 psi through a procharger...here is the graph. I had a SMALL pulley on the car, so I know I was bleeding boost but, the car ran great.

I have never seen a conclusive test proving that overlap is bad for power in a turbo application.

we have a stock short block with a crane 236/240 600/600 on a 112 in a turbo application right now. at 10lbs it been 5.80's in the 1/8th. it was real easy for guy to tune. its speed density on a 3 bar map. starts easy builds boost real quick. (gt47-88) i say go for it.
