Default Can This Be Right? (Hammer Cam)

I just picked up my Z06 after having a C1 cam and ASP Pulley installed. We dyno'd the car on a Mustang dyno and it pulled 394rwhp/381rwtq with no knock and a 12.7 AFR.

Sounds decent, right? Well not really. Before the cam and pulley I pulled on two different dynojets:

389/377- ATP Fremont (1-2003)
387/373- Ralph's Hot Rod Heaven- Sacramento 10-(2002)

The new cam idles great and makes peak power at 6200 rpm's like it's supposed to. Is it really possible to only gain 5rwhp with this swap?

Stock cam specs are 204/218 .551/.547 117 LSA
CC1 cam specs are 222/222 .566/.566 112 LSA

I'm also using 918 springs, 772 retainers, and stock length chromoly push rods.

Do some research on Mustang Dyno's. They usually dyno significantly less than a comparable DynoJet.

If you want to see your #'s compared from before, redyno your car on another DynoJet.

Those are SICK numbers from a mustang dyno. Look for 425 RWHP on a dynojet

Were these SAE corrected #'s. if so I would say go back to the shops you went to before, if that's possible. I saw a 38hp difference from a mustang dyno to a dyno jet with just a lid, K&N, Maf and LM and this was just two days apart.

From what the shop owner told me, they had adjusted the Mustang dyno 13% to be comperable to the Dyno Jet's in our area. We were also using a 98% corredtion factor. The weird thing is we did the dyno run in 3rd gear due to the mph limit on the dyno. We had to abort the first run because the tires went up in smoke.

Just curious, how many pulls did you do? this morning, my first pull was only 275HP, while the last 3 were all around 310HP...

Three of the pulls had me at 380rwhp, which is 9rwhp less than my stock cam. I had no KR and my A/f was mid to high 12's on all of the pulls.

If you dyno in third gear it will show LESS
rwhp because it is not a 1:1 final drive ratio.
MPH limit on the dyno?Sounds odd.
Get to a Dynojet and see what you come up with.

You need to go to a different dyno period, you lost about 10rwhp dynoing it in third and who knows how they are correcting for the 13%..

Screw the dyno... go to a track, run it.. if it runs faster than before you're all good

last dyno day northwest f-body had mykdiver hit the speed limiter on the dyno cause of his 2:?? rearend. the computer pulled the plug only after he was well over 200MPH though. something isn't right at that shop.

lol! dyno numbers are worthless unless you use the same dyno before and after one mod

dynoing in 3rd gear will yield lower RWHP. Go dyno it somewhere else, or go run it at the track. But if you dyno it, go to another dyno you have used before. I can't see not dynoing in 4th, they should know better....

I just got back from re-dynoing the car on a familiar DynoJet.

407rwhp/395rwtq (SAE)

A/F was at 12.6 so there's a few more ponies there to be had. All in all I'm very happy with the performance of this cam.
