1/4 mile
hey i was just wondering what a good 1/4 mile time would be for a stock z28, i took my car out for the first time the other day, and ran a 14.009 @ 101.08 mph.

2.1 60ft. and pretty much 14flat @101mph sounds really damn good for all stock. I feel a little suspicious but, oh well... maybe I'm just a hater. hehe...
Anyway, getting the 60ft down means launching your car like a BAMF. You'll need sticky tires, a rearend and tranny that can handle the abuse, suspension mods to transfer the weight correctly. More power is another way but, doesn't help your 60ft when your spinning at the line.

A 14.0 @ 102 ~ is right about what stock LT1 will run, so it sounds like your car is in good shape. A 2.13 60' time isn't that bad either, but it's not great. You could easily hit the 13's with a 2.0 which shouldn't be too hard to do. Just work on your technique a little

Your time sounds about right, I was running a little faster stock but pretty close. The reaction time has nothing to do with your 60' foot its all about hooking up basically. You could add some drag radials and do some suspension work like control arms etc. to work on that but the real gains would lie in a nice sized converter with some gears but suspension and dr's would then be essential. With all of that I was cutting high 1.6 60's full weight so thats the way to get your et's down without adding horsepower. Another way would be weight reduction of course.

Accually, a 101 MPH is good for mid 13s, your doing about right for a stocker, a little better i'd say on the MPH end, your 60ft. isn't too bad, work on those & you should see some decent gains, even better in the cooler months, What is your Altitude?

There was just a whole long thread on this; should do some searching. 101 trap seed with some decent/good tires should show around 13.85-13.9. When this car was dead stock it clicked off a 13.5-@104.- Though it is a 96' ws6 6speed.
