Default Do you spray through shifts?

I have a 99 camaro on a 150 nitro daves plate shot and a rmvb th-400. I don't have a window switch I hit the unit by pressing a button on my shifter. I have been letting off during shifts. A lot of people are telling me it's ok to spray through the shifts with my trans. what do you think?

I was thiking about it and the way it seems is I should pick up around .5 seconds by spraying through the shifts. thanks for your opinion and keep them coming.

I was told not to because it's harder on the transmission supposedly. But then again I'm still on the stock trans too.

spray through the shifts it is fine, it probably is harder on the tranny no doubt but it is for racing and that is the only way to go fast.

For what it's worth the T56 is a very robust transmission and I know of at least one T56 that is holding 850 RWHP in a supercharged set up without issue.

You put a TH400 in becasue you wanted to go fast, and not worry about the tranny breaking. Spray right thru the shifts. I can't imagine not doing it.

I will say some stock 60's will surprise you...fluid changes and good coolers to keep temps down.

my dad's car we went through the shifts for 2 years and no issues

full weight car
1.4x 60's
10.6-11.0 ( between mods )

We now have an FLT Level 3 which we are not worried about. I just took my TH350 out and swapped in a FLT Level 4 as well. We like to cruise around a lot

I have never heard of anyone with a turbo 400 shutting it off during the shifts. That is pretty much just a method for the overdrive guys buying time...
