Default Help with 10 bolt.

Would my car alright with DRs in the back? Everyone says its gonna break.. But I dont have alot of money to jus dump into a new rearend. i wanna get some 3.42s, and maybe a stall down the road, how would my rearend hold up? I dont drive it hard... I usually just cruise around town. But every once in awhile I do take it to the track.

with 3.42s you'll probably be pretty safe. Lots of people run DRs on a stock rear end. Just don't go running a full slick.

I'm still running my 10-bolt rear with a 6-speed and M/T et streets at the track. I slip the clutch instead of dropping it, but still have gotten many 1.8 and 1.7 60' times by using this method without issue. And now that i've said that, i'm sure i'll be towing my car home from the track tonite.

Ther rear doesn't know if it's ET streets or regular slicks on it. Dead hooking on a hard launch is the same stress on the rear no matter what type of tire is on there.

On the stock converter you should be fine, once you go to a 3600 or better with sticky tires and it begins to get iffy. Not saying it WILL break, just that it might.

Don't let it wheelhop.

Well i can say that i haven't had any problems (knock on wood). I ran et street radials last year and this year, with drag racing every weekend and over the winter put the ss3600, ps LT's and ls6 intake on and have raced evey weekend and some weekends more than one day, like last weekend, fri 1320x, sat. no box race, and sun. street class. Not to even getting to the couple of 250-300 ft burnouts i have left. With an a4 and 2.73's it shouldn't have any issues.
