Default Running pig rich after Racetronix???

I just installed the Racetronix pump and hot wire kit. Made no other changes. Car was running great, now with the new pump it's running rich as hell and lost some power. Is this common? Right now I'm wishing I had just gone with a stand alone for the nitrous (which isn't installed yet)

fuel pressure change? injector change?

I'm assuming its your 99 car, your fuel pressure may have changed by serveral psi... but that should have made that crazy of a difference

Same injectors. The ONLY thing that I changed was the Racetronix pump and harness. Don't have a way to check fuel pressure; I should get some type of tuning software as I'm several hours away from any tuners.

The car went from running clean as could be to puffing black smoke. I'm pretty used to my car--I've had it for 5 years and only made minimal changes to it so far. I know it would run at least 3 to 5 tenths slower in the quarter

Most people report a fuel pressure increase when installing a Racetronix pump, and from my experience, a ~5-ish psi increase in fuel pressure was enough to cause me to go from running a 13.0:1 AFR at WOT down to 11.5-ish:1 WOT, and it was noticeably sluggish.

You need a retune, plain and simple.

Just hook a gauge up to the test port on the end of the fuel rail.

get it re-tuned for the correct AFR. or get EFI LIVE or HPTUNERS software and go at the IFR table,

i have a GOOOD sticky and excel file to help you calculate all of your IFR table under the fuel and injection page, its a STICKY

Great. Part of the reason I chose nitrous was because of the lack of tuners in the area, and thought I could add power without needing a tune. Should have gone with the stand alone at this point in the game.

Honestly, if you just sack up and buy the software and learn how to tune yourself, it'll be the best investment you'll ever make. Stuff like this is exactly why I got the software early on...if I made a mistake, I could always revert back to the stock tune and try again.

I know when I added my walbro, it jumped up to 70 PSI on the rail. I suppose my regulator went out or I screwed something up putting it in.

So, I opted out and put an adjustable reg up front so I just backed it down to 60psi and all good to go.

NO STAND ALONE. just tune the factory PCM and be happy , it will take you to 1k hp. DO NOT ADD ANY of this silly **** that is supposed to control things!!! I have seen to many people screw up there cars by doing so.

buy you a copy of EFI LIVE or HPTuners and go at it we will help

I was referring to a stand alone fuel system for the nitrous. So for software, (EFI LIVE or HPTuners) which one would you suggest? Is a wideband necessary, and if so which one?

that works fine, just make sure you pull the regulator out of the bucket if you are using the return to that spot.

There is a link in my sig that will help you set up a fuel pressure sending unit for logging. ZL1 has the sticky that will help you use the data you logged.

I guess I never noticed it.. Just did not look as its broke. I have taken the pump out twice, both times for replacing the POS walbro pumps.

You can't just remove the reg. It is required to divert the return fuel back into the bottom of the bucket through the silver leg. You can modify the reg just to be a plug OR machine a cap to go into its place.

Actually, I have a -6 line going from the regulator to the tank via a bulk head fitting. I have not had any problems, is it ok?

the factory return line that comes back to the tank where it "T's", I just capped.

As long as there is a tube returning this fuel into the bucket you are OK.
