Do some research, the V1 is the best made. Not the cheapest, but it is always the highest rated and most accurate. My Escort is in the my beater now.

Trust me I did research. SIDE BY SIDE research. The escort picked up the radar bands 9 times out of 10 about 100 ft quicker. Only good thing about the V1 is the directional arrows but to be honest, who really is gonna look at the arrows anyways? I slow down anytime i hear the radar detector goes off

Did it also give more false alarms? You have to mention that if all you are saying is that it was more sensitive.

Regardless, I would rather have a little less sensitivity and still have the arrows. I use them ALL the time. I don't know what use a radar detector without arrows has...I really don't get it.

If you say so. Guess your the minority.

All the car audio boards say V1 as well.

maybe it's my city but mine definitely outperforms friends V1. The Escort definitely set off more false alarms with X bands at every Shell station and sliding doors, but X band is easily shut off with the 8500. The V1 was setting off false alarms with Ka band and I'm not aware if that can be turned off on the V1 (not completely sure)
