Went to the track with the new setup, have some ?
Well went back to the track with the auto and the 2 step. Had to do some creative wiring to make the 2 step work, after I found out the activation switch was bad.
Anyway, looks like the converter starts to push through the brakes at about 3000 rpm. (PY3400 80E no brake) Getting on the 2 step, I still can't make any boost off the line. Is my turbo to big to spool that low, even on the 2 step? That's what I'm thinking. I've heard you can play with timing and what not while on the 2 step to help spool, but I wouldn't know where to begin with that.
Best run all night was deffinetly an improvment from last time out.
60 - 1.66
1/8- 6.5
1/4- 10.03 = frustration, I shifted the 1-2 shift early. DAMN
mph- 139

What happened to the six speed highway killer??
Sounds like you need a little more convertor and get a T-brake!!!. Also go 3 step and never look back...

I guess this will be one of those compromises. Big converter does good on the track but suck on the street. Small converter does good on the street and suck at the track. The car is still mostly a street car, so I'll have to deal with it. Where would I get a 3 step from? You guys sell one?

you def need a looser converter, but a couple things you can try to help, add timng -a bunch of timing, where you are on the footbrake, stay on the footbrake as long as possible, lower your 2 step so that you can hit it,it isnt doing any good without being able to get to it,as your tune gets better you can start raising it.but i dont think any of this is going to help much with that tight *** converter

that converter if acting like mine has great street manners. i would look into getting a t brake.
as far as pushing the car, i think anything you do to help spool will also try to move the car, so in that case work on your brakes or a procedure to get your foot into the brake pedal more during staging.
your cubes and motor are bigger than mine, but using a lot of leg i can footbrake a 1.57 so far but on the brake it will go to whatever you can afford to try

Just work on your 60. I have the same converter and setup. I am adding a brake very soon. Youll get in the 9's no problem with that setup. I dont even use a 2 step or a brake right now.

Yes, this converter is great on the street. Since I don't go to the track a lot, I doubt I'd go to a bigger stall. I need to play with it more, being as this was the first time using the 2 step.

What rpm did you set your 2 step? I run a 3k converter & set my 2 step at 3k. It takes 1.5 to 2 seconds for it boost up. It only gets to 7lbs max.
I'm strictly a street guy though, no track.

Limiter stet at 2900. It started pushing through the brakes at 3000, but that time I wasn't on the 2 step, I think. I need to try it a few more times to see how much it can hold on the 2 step. I thought the auto swap was going to make the car easier to drive, but its worse than the m6. Damn sure more violent. haha.
