Default cutout question?

Here is the situation, a buddy and I are both doing lt's, tsp ory, manual cutout, and the stock z28 rectangle tip catback. I said just get 3 inch because the y is 3" and I think the i-pipe on the stock catback is close to 3 or a little under I think I have been told. Im not totally sure though and neither is he...so whats the right size I know there are a lot of people running this or a very similar setup? So lets here it what do you guys have?

Stock I-pipe is 2.75". You need a 3" cutout, it will work with that setup.

I had LTs, ORY and a cutout on my stock Z28 catback on my old car. It was a great setup. Quiet as hell capped and mean as hell open. 3" BTW.

DMH cutout and match it to the pipe you're going to weld it to.

i had that setup, the stock exhaust was too quiet for me, i always had the cutout open, so i changed up setups to soemthing a little louder, but a 3inch cutout will work perfect
