Default Finally got to run a LS1!!

Finally got to run a full bolt on LS1 tonight...def have more respect for their top end now..lol

As my car sits on the dyno it put down 260@RW..it's running really lean and the guy told me I'm losing out on some HP's...The Ls1 put down 357@RW

From the dig on our 1st race I pulled him until 80 then he spanked me.
Race 2 I had him until 115 and again...he pulled on me. Got me wondering about my dyno and how low my numbers were. I def need a good tune. Oh well, my head and cam package is coming soon and we will see what happens to him next time.

Yup..embarrassing. Dyno shop told me it was the lowest numbers they had seen pulled out of a bolt on LT1. It feels strong up until 4th gear and it starts to cut out a bit..at about 110-115..could be my fuel pump or opti not sure.

its an automatic dude. they dyno low. don't worry about dyno numbers. you raced a healthy running ls1. i think you did very well if you held him off to 115. head and cam that rig and lose some weight out of it and try again.

Oh I'm too worried about the numbers..the way I look at it, if it was the 1/4 at the track I would have taken him on our second run being he didn't pull me until 115 mph

hell yea mang kill those ponies! fer real.

and i had a very similiar situation too, i went to the local track last weekend with one of my buddies who has an 2000 SLP firehawk with long tubes and a tune, ive got a cam all supporting valve train stuff a CAI and muffler delete and a tune and im a4 hes m6. both times we raced i had him thru the 1000 foot then he would pull about 1.5-2.5 cars depending on how well he was shifting until the 1/4. i was very happy considering i have 3.23's and a a4 and he has 3.42's and m6.

yea i was wanting to wait on gears until i get the money for a new rear end. but i really would at least like to go with 3.42's so my highway isnt extremely bad.

but ive got a set of long tubes sitting under my bed too those should help out top end, just need the cash to pay for the x-pipe to be welded up.

my friend just got a 98 LS1 T/A with supposedly a chip a couple weeks ago. I've run him twice with my LT1 with only a cutout and both times I've beaten him. The first time I know he wasn't use to the car yet, but we did a 40 kick and I stayed dead even with him untill he missed 4th.

The other night we raced from a dead stop and I had a car length on him to 115 when we got out of it, ran out of road.

It seems like he doesn't pull on me at all, even at higher speeds. We're going to swap cars and run and see if its the driver..
he's changing his plugs and air filter too. Said they were bad..
