Default Has anyone put in a 97 and up LS1 style dash in their LT1 car

I am really debating to do this swap. A local guy has a COMPLETE dash out of his 00SS and a center console. I have been doing some research and been reading these bolt right in, but im not to sure if I would need to get the interior harness or what else this swap would consist of. If anyone here has done a swap give me some advice. He also wants $600 for everything

I have done it, and yes it bolts right in with no modification...the main thing that kicked my *** was re-wireing the Cluster harness to accomidate the 97+ cluster, I did mine the hard way and carefully pulled each wire out of the connector with the metal pin still attached and not broken and put it in the correct slot on the 97+ cluster connector.it wasn't hard, just had to do a little double checking before everything went in for the final time: here's a pic of my swap before I got the console in, was waiting for it to be shipped from Idaho or some **** like that

Was the re wire for the cluster ONLY? Looks really nice. Im getting everything for $600, if you dont mind me asking (you could PM if you like) if you paid around that including console. Just want to make sure im not over paying

Well the Milage won't be Accurate. Because the Cluster has milage in it.

Easy fix, Take you're old cluster, and proof of ownership(I took my title) the the GM dealer parts department with the new cluster and had them set the Digital Cluster to my Analog one..

Back from the dead, but do you have some diagram of how to rewire an lt1 harness for the ls1 gauges? Just picked up a complete dash, also took the connector and cut it about 2 inches past so i have room to splice into

You need a 97 LT1 cluster, the LS1 wont work. This guy did it a few years ago, dig through his site, you may find the diagrams

I don't know about the law...but you're going to have a hard time selling the car if your mileage doesn't jive with vehicle history. Do the job right...don't half-*** it.

You can find speedo repair places to reprogram the cluster.

Sorry to be **** about thepost title but the 97 Lt1 started this dash style aswell as the taillights.... the price is a little steep!!!!!!

The harness will need to be lengthened a bit for the HVAC,fog lamp switch, shorten the hatch switch since it will now be on the drivers side...if you are using nitrous, the ARS switch near the fog lamp switch makes for an excellent purge switch

It's a fairly easy swap - I had a harder time removing the 93-96 dash than I did putting the 97+ dash in.

well there is talk about the harness cant you just use the 97 up harness and make the mods to it to work with the car install of using the old one and have to halfass it

10yr exemption here..no matter what.

My Odometer in the Camaro actually messed up and I got another one from a broken Cluster locally. I went the extra step since the thing would be off anyways and reset it to 000000..already told the Ins. that it had messed up and they consider the Mileage exempt now.

It's easy to keep track of things, I know my Engine and Trans has 12xx miles on it..

i know here in ky after 100k they consider that beyond mechnical limits but if there is a discrepancy in the milage then they tag it tmu tru milage unknown , but if you have the milage on the title and swap dash and stay close to stated milage on the title then you can get away with it i used the be a saleman / mechanic at a chevy dealership i learn alot of dirty lil tricks lmmao
