Default looking to procharge the 408

over the winter im possibly thinking of procharging my 408 when i get my cnc l92 heads and if that aftermarket intake comes out

first off ill say this ive never delt with a supercharger before only a turbo

i have a forged bottom end. and im looking to go e85 with this

question is which procharger would be best for a 408 i know some people say theres a quiet version and a loud version as well

fuel? injectors are obvious but as for fuel pump willl i need 2 or what? i currently have a walbro 255 anything else i'd need for fuel

should i get head studs? are stock headgaskets a no go?

i currently dont have main studs just gm bolts should i upgrade to studs too on the mains?

anything else i should be concerned about

intercooler and pipeing ill fab up which wont be a prob aswell as a bov

im really not sure what kinda boost/power it could hold but i figured 6-700whp is possible isnt it?

i would say a minimum of an f1a thats what Bob runs on his personal car which is a 402 and performs very well.I would upgrade to head studs.Bobs car runs about 18# of boost and somewhere north of 800rwhp.Dont hesitate to give him a call and he can discuss other items u might need and he also has the best price around on prochargers.

few questions why do the split the charge pipe on the outlet of the procharger? also do they have a setup that mounts in the location of the ac compressor by chance?

money is going to be a factor so thats why i wanted to see what its gonna take now so i dont rush into anything

thanks a ton!

With the ProCharger twin intercooler system the charge pipe gets split up.

With our front mount intercooler option there is no split.

Here is our complete kit.

ProCharger only has one location for the blower on the f body.
You could possibly use the ProCharger GTO bracket to move the blower over to the driver side top of the engine, or use the ProCharger C5 bracket to locate the blower on the passenger top side. More than likely you would end up with additional cost in trying to make something like this work on an 98-up f body. Bob

The twin intercoolers was ProChargers method of intercooling the LT1 and LS1 f body's. The air is channeled up into the intercoolers the same way it enters the radiator. Since there was not enough room for a large intercooler under the car, they split it into two smaller intercoolers. This method works quite well until you get into the higher boosted applications that are 14 psi and above. Bob

Since its a 408 I would go with a F1A or bigger. My D1SC ran out of steam at the high rpms on my 402.
