NINETRES = worst luck ever!!!!
So I'm FINALLY getting the last few loose ends tightened up on my current build before I trailer it to Synergy to get tuned.......and I have yet another lame issue. This time I believe it is electrical. Here is the what happened.
Car has ALWAYS started at the first crank. A couple days ago, it took up to a minute to get the car to start sputtering and finally fire. I drove it a little, drove fine considering it only hasa a shakey base tune.
Next day, car was a bitch to start once again. Took all kinds of time to get it sputtering. Finally starts, but died out of the blue a mile or so from my house as I was cruising about 40mph. Took some effort to start it. Drove it to my parents house a couple miles away. Was a bitch to start to drive it back home.......now it won't start and just cranks real good.
Fuel pressure is there but spark is not. Thought it might have been a bad crank senor......new one didn't help.
I switched to some used truck coils about 25 miles ago, so I'm going to try my stock ones out again even though my car seemed to miss at WOT in boost with those ones (thats why I switched). My mechanic is bringing them by my house later tonight, or tomarrow.
Could it be the cam sensor? Any other ideas? Its frustating because I'm soooooooo close to getting this thing tuned and I have had nothing but bad luck with this last damn build.

well he said he had fuel. i dont know about the coils, it would seem weird to lose more than one at once, unless its the connector/ wiring. cam sensor does seem logical but wouldnt that throw a code?

40 seems really low but I don't know what you set you're base fp at?
Mine is set at 62 so It hits 62 psi when I turn the key on & don't start it. It bleeds off fast but it hits the correct psi.

Have you checked connections around the starter ninetres? Had a car die on me in the past and start inconsistently when the hot lead to the starter wasn't getting good connection. Might also check fuses and grounds if you know the coils are good and getting good connection. Good luck dude.

The guy who let me use his scanner yesterday said that it showed no codes when the key was in the"on" position, yet both my service vehicle lights were on. Weird.

All good info guys. Thanks. Keep it coming so when I get off work I'll have all kinds of things to check
FWIW, I have a boost ref. FPR. I know it seems a tad low, but I would still think it would start. I pulled a plug and cranked it and it barely even lit. Like a dim oragne and it was irratic, no consistency. My friend that saw it said ti didn't even count as a spark lol
