Fueling & Injection - Good Thread Sealant for Gasoline

Can someone recommend a good sealant for gasoline. I am having a heck of a time sealing my fuel rails up. The fittings that go into them are stainless and the rails are aluminum.

Are you sure you are using the correct fittings?

edelbrock 3/8 npt rails with aeromotive 3/8" npt fittings.

I prefer teflon paste...

I've used both. I usually use the tape, but on my Carter sbc fuel pumps I remember them saying to not use tape on the fittings. If you want something more permanent, as a last resort, you could always try some of that nasty brown Permatex crap and let it dry for a couple of days.

well I am going to patch it with teflon tape just to get it back to the shop. It seriously had geysers coming from the fittings...not good.

Anyhow, I have used two pastes and no go with either...

I used the yellow teflon tape, you can get at home depot in the natural gas section.
It is gas and oil resistance.

you can use 545 hydraulic loctite, make sure all your surfaces are clean, apply to both surfaces and let cure for the recommended time. this loctite isnt like the regular stuff it will break free much easier then then red but seals MUCH better. if that doesn't work i dont know what to tell ya
