People do it with lids, don't know about the k&n.

ya i looked into the sux2bu setup. looks really effective. i woulda done mine that way but mine came with the k&n

just thought id ask and get oppinions on a FIPK sucking air thru the bottom

i wonder if it would be more effective sucking up air thru the bottom than thru the ss hood. i dont hav a bumper reinforcement, a/c, washer bottle or the shrouds, so it gets plenty of air the that area

I recently went through this...after it was all said and done I ended up doing the FTRA kit and selling my FIPK setup. My friend did the same with his 01 TA and is very happy just for the fact his IAT's are way cooler than before.

I'm not sure cutting a whole under the FIPK would net the same difference because it's not an enclosed system. You would still be sucking in warm air from the engine bay.
