Default Winding sound?

Has anyone had any problems with their cars making a loud winding sound when they accelerate? Im pretty sure its the transmission but im not 100percent so i thought i would ask anyways, see if it has happened to anyone else, it usually gets quieter past 3rd gear, but first second and somewhat 3rd seem to have a loud wind every time i put my foot on the gas

I don't know about winding, but my car used to make a noticeable whining noise when I got on the gas...turned out to be a hole in the rubber hose connecting the pcv valve to the intake manifold.

is it 6 speed or auto? could be a problem in a manual gearbox or could be the whining of the power steering pump, if the fluid is old as hell or low.

hwy, possibly a dumb question, is there another way to check transmission fluid or do i just have to jack it up, and undothe second cap or whatever on the transmission? And also if it is low when i check, whats the best transmission fluid to be putting in? Also i dont have to drain it right? i can just fill it up with the new stuff?

No. If you find that it's low, depending on the miles, it might be worth draining and refilling with fresh Mobil 1 synthetic ATF.

Don't forget to check the diff fluid while you're under there.

ok so new proble, i got some time tonight, went to check it out, and my car is to damn lowered, i cant even get a jack underneath it to lift it and check the transmission, any alternatives other than taking it to a mechanic? i dont wanna waste money when im broke so some mechanic can screw me over and overcharge me.
