Default Is my trap speed right?

I went to the track last night and ran an 11.7 with a 2.0 60 ft time, launching at 3k slightly slipping the clutch. It just seems like i should be trapping higher. What do you guys think? the only thing i can think of since i left the dyno was i bought some duralast plug wires on.

500 rwhp will give you mid tens if things are right...you know, tires, psi, launch method, shifting, clutch, 1.4-1.5 sixty foot. However, 11.7 is nothing to laugh at. That is quick.

Am I missing something b/c I don't see your trap speed anywhere? Considering guys have gone high 11's in a stock C5Z and you're at over 130RWHP more I would say something isn't right. Granted those best stock times are great drivers pulling 1.7 60's but you should be lower than an 11.7.

my mistake 124mph. Also does et effect mph at all? In example if i cut a 1.7 60 foot time is it going to give me more mph over my 11.7, 2.0 60 foot time at 124mph.

your mph is pretty much what it is. Sometimes a little more spin may raise it 1 or 2 mph. your sixty foot and shifting is what will lower your et. 124 mph is pretty dang good but not high enough to match 500 rwhp. that mph might more closly match 425 rwhp in my opinion. Nothing is exact though. Keep working on it...you will start dropping.

Yep. 425-450rwhp should get you 124-125mph in a C5/C6. You have some more in it. Just work on your 60' and shifting and it should pick up but with 500rwhp it should be running high 10's @128 or so.

Your mph is down probably due to a very warm IAT(Intake air temp). These cars start pulling timing at 86* IAT. If you allowed it to idle for any period of time or did not raise the hood in the staging lanes then expect IATs in the 130*+ range even on an 80* ambient day.

"Slightly slipping the clutch"? Maybe that was all the traction you had. If so that needs to be addressed. Yep, you need those "nawws"! Your car is capable of much better than a 2.0 60'.

That makes sense it has been warm and humid lately, and no i didnt raise the hood or anything. I may try lowering the pressure in the nittos next time, but it didnt help me any last time i went out to the track.

I would think you have tuning with your mods. Most tuners reduce the IAT tables somewhat. Even if they have it zeroed out so no timing is pulled you are injesting hot air if allowed to idle very long. When I first posted I thought we were talking about a C6 so I am not sure about the IAT table for your 01.

I sold it to an a-hole in NC and the best he got it down to was a 10.3X @ 133 with the battery in the truck and a Hoosier. I never took it to the track but did plenty of street racing and the last year I had it I was never beaten on any of my weekend encounters. Fun car!

Now I have a slowazz bolt on C6 but Im working on it.
