You must not know anyone in the 'shoe world'. A guy i work with has over 300 shoes (jordans and Air Force 1's)... so were talkin $50-200 a piece easy. Some (supposedly) worth 500, some 800. There are forums like this one where people talk about their shoes, how to clean them, what their worth... how rare they are. I **** you not. Its like an underground black market... They may have to take the bus to work everyday from their parents house, but by God they have a closet full of expensive shoes.

My bro is like that. He keeps all the boxes, organizes them and knows the names of all of them. 
He has serious spent $120 for a freaking BALL CAP w/ stupid **** stuck all over it. Oh and two sizes too big, non removal of the tag and refusal to form the bill hat guys ******* drive me nuts. My bro is also one of those guys. 
I'm fine with my $25 pair of chuck taylor's thank you very much. I used to be into Jordan's when i was younger but realized they would only last 8mos-year or so and i'd have to get another pair, at 160-200/pr that ain't cheap. I'll never get how people can be so caught up with what other people think what they wear that they would dish out such insane amounts of money just because it has a stupid tag that says a specific name on it.
