Default How do you guys wash your cars?

This is mainly directed at those living in an apartment/dorm, especially in Gainesville. I don't know how busy the local car washes are but I'm assuming that hand washing is out of the picture there. That's what I used to do when I didn't have a place at home to do it but it was just a tiny car wash in the middle of nowhere. I've considered just paying to run in through a car wash but I'd hate to watch the brushes touch the paint.

Not like you can keep a car clean in FL without a garage anyway with all the rain.

Wash?

That's why I settled on silver, I knew I could get away
with a lot less car washing.

Lot of drive-in, hose-it-yerself type "car washes" down
my way, lot of them don't even have a drive-through
track type washer. Just hose-brush and dollar bill machine.

Or just cruise around on Saturdays looking for the
jailbait cheerleader charity car wash action

When I lived in an apartment, I refused to even have my red TA parked there... It stayed at my parent's house, and I drove a beater Civic I parked at my apartment complex.

Obviously, I did all my washing and detailing at my parent's house.

I know of the do-it-yourself washes but that involves a brush that everyone else has used as well. I've done it before using my own wash mitt but it's pretty tough and I'm pretty sure it's frowned upon. It might be my only option though.

I have a beater Prelude that I will be bringing down here at Christmas time but for right now, this is my only car. My wife has her car that she barely drives but it's a purple auto Stratus and boring as ****. Nice A/C though. Washing at the parent's house is not an option either. I just moved 1000 miles away from them.

I used 10-12 gallon jugs of water and washed it in the evening so I didnt have to worry about it spotting too quickly before I could get it dry. It was a pain in the *** but I was not taking it to a car wash or have some teenage hoes washing it with dirt.

This has always worried me... not the jailbait thing but the idea that they may take a dry sponge right to my car. Worth it? perhaps but im not brave enough to try.

if you got a water spout just get a hose and wash it in the parking lot. I do that at my townhome just get a hose long enough and i wash all 3 of my cars that way although I have never seen anyone else do that where I live nobody has ever said anything to me about it either. Or find someone that has a house and wash the car there maybe some LS1tech people could help you out with that.

Some apartment complexes have water spouts on the buildings. Mine did and I just washed it from that.

btw if your parking space is close to your apartment window, get a hose adapter for your sink faucet and run that **** out a window! I've seen crazier things!

just take it to one of the do it yourself car washes where you throw the quarters in.
