Lid... Well I've long since had an SLP lid and ofcourse the fitment sucks... anyway I could deal with it but I might be upgrading my whole intake side and so it might be a good time to try out the FastToys85mm lid just wondering if anyone has tried it? particularly has anyone made the switch from an SLP to the FASTTOYS Lid and how much better if at all was the fitment?

SLP lids fit great if you make sure that the tray below the filter is seated correctly, and the front lip of the lid is tucked-in. My SLP lid fit terrible before I figured-out the problem with the under filter tray.

i was going to say i have had MTI,LS1 Motorsports and SLP and it fit the best and i have always heard people say SLP is the best fitting lid....took me 15 min to install my SLP lid

actually you can get adapters to have the 85mm lid fit with the stock maf but I am intending on upgrading the maf too if I decide to get this lid which I still have no idea because no one has answered the damn question...
how does this damn thing fit... my slp lid fits decently but the back tabs don't go all the way in and so they start to bend and then slip out and the lid begins to lift off that back section ever so slightly... I installed it properly right from the first time.
so anyone going to chime in with some insight as to whether or not the 85mm lid fits better then the SLP or even as well?

I recently installed the FAST TOYS lid....it does rub on the underside of the hood, other than that the fitment is good if your running an 85mm MAF. I do plan on placing a thin piece of rubber on the hood in the rub area just to alleviate rubbing the paint off.
Suggestion, I used the SLP smooth bellow between my 85mm MAF and 90mm TB, you will need to modify it a bit on the backside though.

Fitment The FT 85mm lids fits really well. We have received a lot of positive feedback on it.
As someone said, you can use it with the stock MAF if you purchase our optional adapter. Then down the road when you get an 85mm MAF, you can just pull the adapter off and not have to get a new lid.
We don't recommend any smooth bellows with our air lid. Since all lids are angled down a bit over the radiator shroud, the smooth bellows tend to pull up the back of the air lid which decreases hood clearance and causes rubbing. The factory, accordian style bellows works best.
We do have a modification you can perform to our air lids to drop them a little bit lower on the base but it is at your own risk as it involves sanding the lip of the air lid.
