LT's will not pass visual unless its "nice" guy doing the test. Its possible to pass the sniffer but not visual.

You will fail with an ory unless you pay the guy off. I have a friend that has dual exhaust on his truck and the guy who smogged it only stuck the probe thing in one of the tips and was shocked when the truck passed so easily. Of coarse my friend did not tell him what was up. I say get some cats put on there and try to find a clueless guy. I could get you the address of that place if you want.

Had to because your making it seem like the only way you could pass is if you have true duals and not a ORY

No i was not, read it again i was telling him to get some cats welded in and find a dumb person that will pass him. And if you want to be particular an ory is designed for vehicles that will not be used on the road. As far as i know all the y pipes that were designed for these cars met the requirements to be road legal, they are not ory's just because the newer y's dont have cats or because the older ones only had 1 cat.

Now lets not have a flame war in his thread, this is not helping him out at all. I gave him my advice what do you think he should do?

ORY = over rear Y pipe....wouldn't that be an example of the stock Y pipe that continues to go over the rear axle and out the back?

I gave him the info he asked for, this is not a flame war just seeing why you are thinking that ORY will not pass smog...

off road y pipe is what merges from the headers/cats to the single tube and that is the i pipe. https://ls1tech.com/acronyms.html

You fail, you get a free re-test. Its up to you if you want that free re-test. You want to take it somewhere else and pay another smog check fee you can .
