Default Well I know how much my stock rods were good for..

90 K miles of daily driven abuse..Now # 4 is protruding through the block & wedged squarly behind the starter..This would normally be pretty cool..Except it's my only form of modern conveyance.I wish I could say I was blowing away a BPU Supra or something,But I can't.All I did was sit on the limiter(6200) in 2nd for what seemed like a 1/2 second. Then Bang!Shudder..silence.I just never imagined it ending like this...I have one payment left..

damn...sry to hear it. Since it's the last payment, might as well go BIG on the rebuild or replacement. Good luck.

Damn glad I have my limiter set a lil higher and I never try and push the limiter. 103,700 miles of N20/H&C abuse. :-)

Did the rod itself break, or was it the rod bolts? Damn, suprised to hear that it broke at the stock limiter.

Sounds like the bolts to me too.

Doesnt sound a whole lot different to what happened to me excapt that I was at about 1000' down the track and the one rod took out two others too.

Because some newbie couldnt stage right I had just sat on the limiter waiting to launch on slicks for about 5 seconds :-/

Mine certainly was the rod bolt.
