Default My American Racing Headers got here (pix)

The parts for my upgrade are finally showing up!

I picked the ARH based on the reviews I've seen here. I have a set of Intrax 2" lowering springs on my 98 Formula, and I wanted as much clearance as I could get. My previous exhaust (stock headers, GMMG catback, I'm not sure about the Y) ended up with only 3 1/8" clearance based. The Y hung pretty low under the drivers seat. I'm hoping for great things with the ARH.

Your ground clearance is going to be very low. With the catted y pipe and those springs you may have 2.25-2.5 inches of clearance.

those look good. are those cats? im going to order some headers monday but i need some with with the air and egr hook ups. i might go with the pacesetters.
also will the stainless steel hold in the heat like the coated ones? i had some regular chrome bbk shorties on a mustang and the baked every thing uner the hood and made every thing very hot.

good question. does anyone know if American Racing coats their headers for an extra charge?

Thanks guys. I'm pretty excited to get my engine put back together. Just waiting on the TR cam, and I'm ready to go.

Yeah, that's what I'm concerned with. Depending on how low the clearance is, I might have to pick up a new set of springs.

You won't be disappointed with those headers. They are the best headers out there IMHO, and I voted with my wallet as well.

If you find those lowering springs to be too low I would look into the Strano springs. They will lower your car ~1.25 inches. I have these springs with my AR headers and catted y pipe is my ground clearance is pretty good.

We can have them coated if you like but we don't normally coat the stainless because it's much more thermally efficient than the mild steel and they don't rust.

I will. Along with pictures of the ground clearance. I've got pictures of the whole re-build process (which initially started as just replacing a bent pushrod and became a cam, intake, oil pump headers swap )

I'll also do sound clips with my GMMG.
