Default C5 wheels on an 02 z28

ok friday night my cousin got a flat tire on his 02 z28 and since 19 inch low profile tires arent cheap and he's a broke college student (no baller here) I ended up just letting him borrow my C5 thin spoke wheels with tires that came on my vette until he buys atleast 2 new tires or if he wants he can buy my stock c5 rims to and pay me whenever and whatever he wants to give me. So anyways I helped him mount the c5's on the camaro and now his car vibrates alot on the freeway? Im pretty sure it has nothing to do with being 17/18's, can it be that they need to be rebalanced?? I never had them balanced on the vette since i bought it but it always rode good on my car. what can this **** be?? the tires are also in decent shape.

I have 17/18 on mine without vibration.

make sure they are torqued properly, and then id think they need a rebalance.

What can cause vibrations is having the lug nuts on backwards. It can only happen if you have open end lug nuts though. You need to make sure the funnel part is facing in.

good point^^^

as for the vibration ask if its constant and gets worse with speed or is it only at certain speeds, if in that case its the tires, if it worsens with speed it may be a bent rim or a tire has seperated

the lug nuts are not open end so its not that.

he tells me the vibration only gets bad when he is on the freeway and not on the street. tires are in decent shape and these wheels rode just fine when they were mounted on my C5. Im starting to think this ****** didnt torque them down right because we were kinda in a hurry to get back to the club wich we didnt make it back to anyways lol.

rebalance them simply as that. Take it to a tire shop have them rebalance and torque them down if it continues you might have another problem. But the tires will get off balance from just sitting around. I think Americas tire will do it for free if you plan on buying tires from them in the future or have before
