Default Bolt on 01 SS VS New Challenger

I had the pleasure of lining up with a new Challanger on Sat.night at a local street race (in Mexico) A friend of mine brought it out and he hadn't even signed the papers on it yet LOL

I was in my girlfriend's 2001 SS, it has long tubes, a lid, cutout, and a tune. Oh yea, I was also on slicks Of course his car is still bone stock.

The first race he tried to manually shift it and it automatically shifted at 5500, he spun about 10 feet or less, I dead hooked. I beat him by 7-10 cars

The second race he left it in drive, spun about 5-10 feet, it went all the way to redline before it shifted. I dead hooked again and put about 4-5 cars on him.

There is a vid with a few races from that night including the first one that we did. I'll try to post it up later but it's kinda poor quality.

Anyway, It was a fun couple of races with a new car, I figured you guys would enjoy hearing about it.

Oh yea, LS1 > Hemi LOL

Good kill, I'm not sure what I think about the new challengers. Some days I like them some days they look like a huge boat to me, oh well....

Good kill!

I know exactly what I think about them. I think they look great, but weight more than the Titanic.

Yea there pretty heavy. I think w/ a driver and tires high 12's are possibly...So there a pretty even race stock for stock w/ a ls1/2.

x2 on above.

not a fair comparison for this race...and i find it impressive that the srt8 chargers that are waaaay more comfortable and waay quieter and more luxurious are keeping up with the ls1 sports cars...sometimes beating.

I agree, even worse, they (Chargers/300's) seem to be just as fast if not faster then the lighter (I know, about 50lbs) Challenger.

Wierd.

FYI, the 2010 Camaro is only going to weigh 150-200lbs less than the Challengers. Ouch.

Nice kill, I guess. You were on slicks cutting 1.8 or better 60fts and he was probably at 2.2 or worse. Why not go from a roll to see how the two cars really compare?

I've seen 360+ to 380+, some people will admit to a predator tune or others just say "stock" Who knows. I have a Charger SRT8 and I'd be happy with getting 370 to the wheels.

I've seen 355 to 385rwhp depending upon the dyno and conditions over the years. Mine was 365rwhp.

ill have to post some pictures of my neighbors challenger, hes had it for like 2 months or so now. he barely takes it out of the garage but it is a limited edition with the 425 hp package on it from factory. its pretty stout. i only got him in my 01 ws6 full bolt ons by 2-3 cars and he didnt shift he let it do all the work lol

Holy crap! My wife's Infiniti FX35 weighs that much. Is it made out of concrete?
