Top Fuel Dragster - On board video!
Here's some on board video I got from my trip down to Ozarks Drag Strip this past weekend. Believe it or not, this is my first top fuel dragster to see in person, we don't get to see many around here! It's not a full pass, but it's still a big f'ing rush!!!
Craziest part about it is that it started raining a couple minutes before he made the pass but he wouldn't let the drag strip employees talk him out of it! Crazy ******!

Ain't that **** the truth!!! I went a NHRA event a few years ago and we were standing near the finish line at the wall and **** the engines roar just pulses through your entire body They would go by at WOT and it was the most intense feeling ever, until one blew a tire and blew CF shrapnel toward us. I will never stand in that location again, but it was fun while it lasted.

They're really pretty tame until they make their pass, there must be something that retards the timing like crazy or something up until that point. You could hear the tone of the motor deepen A LOT 5 seconds before he went.
Even the burnout was a lot tamer than a promod burnout, it was weird.

No its just alcohol or gas, they start the engines off of it because they do not start on nitro. My dad works on a top fuel dragster on occasion and its a blast. We were at Seattle this year but didn't qualify. Still there is nothing that compares. I recall a 55 gallon drum of nitromethane being $1800 this year. They burn around 16 gallons in 1 run.
