Default which gear oil to use and why??

The current gear oil that is in my rear diff is:
http://www.castrol.com/castrol/secti...tentId=7036192
and to me it seems like it makes more noise than before we changed it. We did not add the GM lim. slip adhsve. It was added 2days after the oil was put in. Can that be the cause of all the noise from the oil being added 2 days later?
and the oil im planning to add new oil to see if the noise reduces, but will add the GM lim slip oil first before i add the gear oil, the new oil im gonna add next is:

You should state what your car is. Cuz im pretty sure LS1/LT1's have different LSD's.

When i was at SoCal speed in Santa Ana. Mike was putting Redline 75W90 in his LS1 Trans Am. Id go with that.

Just a note when you change to the Royal Purple, you dont need the GM Oil.

LT1's came with auburn units, auburn units dont work in synthetic, they work in regular mineral oil with the additive.

Yep,
All LT1's came with auburns. What that means is they use a clutch pack in the diff. You shouldn't use synthetic, and absolutely must use the LSD additive. 98 LS1's also cam wih auburns. 99+ (I believe) came with Torsens, and technically don't need the friction modifier, but I add it anyway.
