C5 fuel pump upgrade?

C5 fuel pump upgrade?
I need to upgrade my C5's fuel system to handle 550hp (let's say 550ft-lbs also). Is just tossing in another pump good enough (like we do on an F-body with a Walbro 255)? Or should I be buying the overpriced Racetronix fuel pump and wiring kit?

I would not necessarily call the Racetronix kit overpriced.
A standard 255 pump will not work properly in this application, so a $95 pump will not get you anywhere.
As far as I know, there are only 2 manufacturers that have correct fitting Vette pumps, Lingenfelter & Racetronix. The Racetronix comes with the plug-n-play wiring for about $30 more. If you are making 550hp, there is no reason to do it any other way.
They are rated for 600hp. Above this power level, I also make a dual intank setup for this application.

Not on the Corvette you have a siphon to pull fuel from your pass. side tank. To properly do that you need a pump that retains that function. Not to mention the Racetroix kit is way easier to install than a universal pump.

The racetronix unit is very nice. I put one in my C5, and cannot complain with the whole setup. It went in easy and works very well.
