A BULLIT got SHOT!!!
On the way home from work last night I got a short run in with a new one...
He wanted to go from a 1st gear roll... (Bad for me as I'm around 400whp)
So we go-- as always I have 0 traction so I pull 2. Now lotsa smoke but no forward movement for me...
I'm surprised as he STILL hasn't come around me yet...
About 50 I get traction by pedaling but the race is way over...
He drives up and says when he saw I was having a hard time staying in my lane he let up..
lol...
Anybody else notice how SKINNY those Mustang tires are???
Typical mods for 400whp M6 car.... Z/28 2000.

I don't know where you got the term "flywheel horsepower" but you better google it and find out what it means!
The 60's are over, scooter.
We are in the age of SAE NET ratings and have been since 1971.
I'm old.
Yeah... That's what I was thinking too...
But HE was thinking he was gonna win!!!!
I haven't washed it since I've owned it (over a year now but it's never seen rain or winter--- just dusty.)
it's Black with chrome stock 16" wheels and
I got a stock muffler and tips so it's a pretty stealth look...
224 cam etc... I can't afford to break the rearend so I won't put a tire on it!
It's a lot more fun for me as I enjoy drifting lol!

The OP's car would have butt-raped a stock C5/LS1 F-body as well, so I wouldn't be so quick to throw the "turd" card.

You are talking about the differences between SAE Gross HP and SAE Net HP. The switch was in 1972 and both are measured at the crank, with the flywheel in place for both tests. The difference is gross used no accessories, and headers in some cases. Net used accessories, emission control equipment in place and the factory exhaust. Since 2005 SAE certified HP testing has been in place but it remains voluntary, GM does utilize it at least for high HP tests. Flywheel HP is still a valid term.

So his 400rwhp F-body wouldn't beat a stock C5 Vette? Because that's what I was talking about. Read comprehension > you . And a C5 vs. an LS1 C5 is a toss-up. But yes, a well-driven Bullitt would be a decent race for either.

My good friend has a 1970 LS6 Chevelle he races in FAST certified stock.
(No deviation from OEM for duration lift overlap etc...)
His car is rated @ 450hp (454 cid) and weighs 36-3700 lbs.
he goes 112-113mph.
My car weighs 3480 and I've only ran it 2x... 114mph (bad DA) 116mph (better da)
We think they'd be a good race as they're both about the same power...
