Default Lt1/lt4 In 92 Camaro?

Has anyone here ever installed a Ltx engine into a third gen f-body? I'm about to tackle the job and just wanted any advice from experienced installers. I'm about to drop in an LT1 with an LT4 package and a t56- 6speed into the car. Any help would be appreciated.

The A/C compressor off the fbody setup is going to cause problems with the crossmember.

Yeah i have seen a couple of pics that show the modification on it. I have also seen on youtube a car that has an lt1 with a serpentine setup off of a third gen camaro. I was hoping i could use my old serpentine setup on it. the heads and block have the provisions for it. I'm just not sure how i;m gonna do the crankshaft pulley or balancer. It looks pretty nice. I'm gonna look more into trying that setup. Thanks.

Seams like there is a water pump issue that would need to be addressed if going with the third gen setup. It has been a long time since I have thought about this. I will also look into it some more. This can be done.

Yeah, I'm not sure about it either. I'm gonna convert my water pump to electric. I'm hoping to find the guys info from youtube and see if he can give me some info.

What's wrong with the LT1 setup. I have it in mine and it's fine. Now granted I don't have A/C, but even so I think you'd just creating more hassle for yourself trying to use a different belt setup.

Put a small dent in the engine cradel in front of the spring perch, and the stock accessory drive with the a/c intact will work fine. why reinvent the wheel. Mine has been that way for 7 years.

Most of my cars that I've owned have not had a/c due to the fact that it looked too ugly and crowded in the engine bay. I want to be able to cruise this car and blow some cold air every once in a while. Sometimes I meet a hot chick and they know nothing about cars and when they've gotten in my car they think it's crappy cause I don't have a/c. These chicks are too hot and as much as I'd love to have them sweating in my car, some of them just wont go for it. Is that wrong? Should i keep the a/c and lose the girls?

I would rather have cool girls than no girls! I would just rework the crossmember Like Kory said.

it's easy to do. just heat the area red hot with a torch, then mashage it with a bfh. no biggie. or you could cut the area out and tig a small 1/2 section of pipe in the area. either way it isn't that big of a deal

I Think I Found My Answer. I'm Very Comfortable Modifying A Chassis So It Wont Be Hard For Me And I Also Have A Torch And A Welder So I'm Gonna Tackle That Job Hopefully Tomorrow After Work. Thanks For The Advise. And It's True, "i'd Rather Have Cool Girls Than No Girls."
