Default Ran a new best tonight!

Well I only made one pass tonight due to a few oil downs and a bracket race but I went 8.17 at 87.84mph with a 2.03 60' and a .184RT on skreeet tires. I think it would have been a seven second pass if all went well. I did a john force 1-2 shift burn out on my shitomos with 38lbs of air and rolled out of it only to see both bulbs light up, so I got up on the converter some and forgot to pump the brake, considering I have not raced the car in forever, and deep staged. I sat there for a second to see if the tower was going to give me some time to back up... as soon as I threw it in R the tree started to fall... by the time I got it in drive I saw the last yellow so I had to flash it off idle.

One I left I bumped the 1-2 shift and had to crack the throttle some then got back in it the rest of the run. The car is strong for sure!! All I need are some MT's for my prostars, some slight tuning, and new plugs and I will be mid 7's or better.

BTW this is my first "clean" pass in over 2 yrs. I think it would have gone 7.8x-7.9x if I could have made another couple of passes.

That is a great time for the power your making. How much does the car weigh?

I think there were a few thing wrong with the dyno sheet... there is no way it can be accurate, especially on the tq. The dyno would only read from 4.75k RPM to 6.5k rpm because the converter kept flashing. I have seen these cams make 340+ on TQ below 4k.

I am a bit concerned on the HP number though. I know the plugs were bad and I am on a mail order tune, the A/F is dead on but I don't know what the timing looks like. The car has around 12.1 comp so it's probably very conservative. The car also has a set of plugs in it that are slightly fouled out.

The car also stopped making power at 6350... I thought most 306's made power way beyond that!

Not bad at all for the problems you had! Like you said, once you get it to hook up and stage right you'll be well into the 7's!

Very true, the heads are acting as a bottle neck. I do have a ported intake that I might throw on along with a pulley. I am sure that might net a tenth or two. I still think the timing may be some what conservative. I will get it back on the dyno with some new plugs, intake and pully and see what happenes.

Just though I would load a picture of the car on the LS1powertuning dyno...

I also have this video from my phone but it's not worth a damn.
